Singapore $5 Polymer Banknotes, UNC

Stacks of 100 pieces each of the new Singapore $5 polymer banknotes were released last Friday, May 18.

For the last three days, I've acquired 12 stacks from three different local banks and found only one single stack that bears continuous running serial numbers, 2ED 096111 to 2ED 096210.

I guess the defect rate of printing this kind of polymer banknotes is extremely high.

Philippines 2 Pisos Banknote

Pick#152, ND (1975), Philippines 2 Pisos, crisp UNC.

The front of this banknote has a portrait of a national hero and a signature of a deposed dictator.

Even though I've been keeping this piece of banknote in my collection since 1980, I shall be very pleased to sell it to any collector when the offer price is right.

Old Philippines Banknote Sold

Pick#132, ND (1949), Philippines ½ Peso, Unc., some stains on front & back. SOLD!

I've sold many banknotes of various countries from my paper money collection, but this is the only piece of Philippines obsolete paper money that I'd sold on Yahoo! Auctions Singapore more than one year ago.

Since 1980, I've collected only eight different pieces of Philippines banknotes and I'll display the remaining seven banknotes in the next few postings.

So watch this space and don't go too far away.
