BERINDA Angpow Red Envelop

On my visit to Johor Baru this morning, I'd noticed a few nice Berinda angpow red envelops displayed at a small vendor stall on the first floor inside City Square.

I'd asked the stall salesperson for a piece like this to take home, and he'd obliged to my request.

Angpow Red Packets from Samsung Singapore

In 2007, I'd received many angpow packets of envelops (blue color logo) from Samsung Singapore 'coz the local economy back then was booming.

However, in 2008 this corporation somehow didn't print or distribute any angpow packet at all.

For this year, I've received only one packet (gold color logo) so far, and I am trying to get another packet.

Angpow Red Packets from Johor Baru

Not every large Malaysian commercial bank gives out angpow or hongbao red packets that early before this Lunar New Year of 2009.

The staff at MayBank and EON Bank said that their red packets are only available next week.

However, Hong Leong Bank and Public Bank already have angpow red packets available when I'd requested for them on my visit to Johor Baru this morning.

I like those packets printed by Hong Leong Bank showing the running bull.

Many Free Angpow Hongbao Red Packets

On December 26, 2008 the proprietor of a music CD retail shop, situated inside Shaw Towers at Beach Road, had given me 22 angpow packets of envelops from his collection.

Several of them, from the Year of the Rooster, Year of the Boar, and Year of the Rat, were printed by the management of Shaw Towers.

For this year, the hotel staff is quite reluctant to give and I'd got only one piece.

In 2008, I was lucky to receive a few pieces.
