Garden-in-the-Sky Concept saves Time and Effort

1. This garden-in-the-sky concept saves precious space in your small high-rise apartment.

2. Use a corner of your open balcony to catch free sunshine and rainwater to save your utilities bill.

3. Easy to care and no parasitic weeds to remove, and thus save a lot of your precious time and effort.

4. A place for you to enjoy some nature without having to walk to a park, and therefore save you a lot more time and effort.

5. Please don't try this garden-in-the-sky concept when you already have your garden on the ground 'coz you're already wasting too much time and effort on your landed property. Heeheehee!

A Strong Howling Wind is Blowing

It's always windy at my place of residence. At times it's very windy and I can hear the howling wind blowing pass my windows.

But for this very afternoon, it's exceptionally windy and a strong howling wind from the northeast has been blowing for the past two hours now.

The sky is a little cloudy and the weather is a little sunny. I've shot this photograph at 3:40pm (about an hour ago) from my window facing the east. Check out those tall palm trees at the center and you can see that their palm leaves are swaying to one side. None of the residents are using those recreational facilities for the past few hours.

Where's that strong howling wind coming from?

300-year old Guanyin Sculpture

A friend brought me yesterday afternoon to the home of a former China national, who has become a Singapore permanent resident.

It was a good opportunity for my friend and I to check out from the owner about this distinctive Guanyin sculpture.

At the same time, I'd got a chance to speak some Chinese and listen to somebody who speaks superb Beijing Chinese.

This owner had brought with her this 300-year old sculpture, carved from the root of a huge bamboo tree, when she emigrated to Singapore several years ago.

I've shot eight photographs of the sculpture and posted one good photograph here 'coz the owner has asked me to help her to sell this sculpture at Yahoo! Auctions Singapore.

For your information, Guanyin is the Chinese Goddess of Mercy.

Small Glass Vase

At the top left-hand corner of my display cabinet, I've placed this elegant glass vase half-filled with water.

The slow vaporization of the water cools the hot and dry atmosphere at the top level of my cabinet when I switch on the two filament lamps of 40-watt each.

This glass vase is among the 20 items that I'd bought recently from those sellers at Yahoo! Auctions Singapore. I think it fits nicely at that corner of my cabinet and I guess a vase shouldn't be used just for flowers.

Hard-Case Namecard Holder

I've been doing much more selling than buying at Yahoo! Auctions Singapore for the past 2½ years.

But since the beginning of this year, I've bought about 20 items from twelve sellers. Among all those items, this hardcase namecard holder is a splendid item that I like very much.

I'm using it to store two unique namecards, one made of thin plywood and another made of translucent plastic. I hope to find a few more namecards like these to keep them inside this holder.
